Frogs legs and final wedding prep

Our first week with parts of my Canadian family in France went well. The Professor and I ate frog legs (which took a LOT of bravery on my part), and we went on a few hikes and tours of old ramparts around the south. We wandered around St. Paul de Vence, Antibes, and Saint-Raphael. We had beautiful weather, wine and some delicious French food -- exactly what visitors are supposed to expect from a lovely spring in Nice.

Now, however, I have to get to work. My aunt and uncle have gone off on a road trip across the country to leave us with a little time to prepare before the wedding celebration. They'll meet up with us in a few weeks, at the party near the Loire Valley.

My last few remaining tasks: I have to finish the final draft of the book (SO, SO CLOSE!), pass my French test (which is NEXT WEEK!) and finish the graphic design for the menus. Oh, AND BUY THE DRESS. But I'm not talking about the dress anymore. I'm just going to show up at a store this weekend, throw my credit card down, and that'll be it.

  4. Wow, busy life!

I have never had frog legs so I have a new respect for you. Should I reciprocate by tasting a weird Canadian specialty?

  5. Zhu: When I was a kid, my dad went up north to spend a few weeks with the Cree for a story he was working on. When he came back, he told us he'd eaten the inside of moose nostrils and beaver cheeks. (NOTE: As young kids, we were incredibly excited by this idea. I even wrote about it in my journal at school. Now, I'm not so sure it was true.) Are you up for that?? Haha.
