Killing the mandarin tree

Sad story: We're not the ones killing the tree on our terrace, we swear. But really, this is our first year growing the mandarin oranges ourselves (last year we bought them already grown) and we're very new at this. We noticed that some tiny bugs were making little labyrinths along the backs of our leaves, and then when the mandarins first started to show as tiny little balls among the leaves, some of them actually fell off. Now, as I've already mentioned, we've only got three little green babies that should be orange by Christmas. Here's the big brother of them all...

If anyone has any advice... please help! (although, it's sadly too late for the fallen mandarins this year.)

Happy story: Soon, we're going to Paris!

  1. Diluted solution of dish detergent and water to wash the leaves should help.

  3. I'm not sure if you're my mom or someone else's mom, but thanks for the tip! I'll try it out today ... after a little nap. We just got back from Paris!
