I'm now working on a chapter where I have to describe the newsroom -- to give an idea of the life that I left so I can then contrast it against this new one of medieval villages, driving lessons, looooong dinners and very little structured journalism work.
It's always funny to think about describing something that you know really well, but that other people might not know so well -- but, might have seen on TV or might find, if the description is given in too much detail, to be uninteresting.
Hopefully, my memory will be a little hazy and will only pull forward the exciting or interesting parts of journalism so I have less information to deal with.
I think I've figured out this annoying subscriber counter stuff I put on the right side of the page (feel free to still be counted!!!)... so now, I'm writing like the wind...
I'm also trying to emotionally prepare myself for some parking lot training on the scooter this evening. After my last fall, I've been afraid of these roads that turn back on themselves down the mountain. So we're training me back up to the level of being able to drive into town so I can make more friends. I've joined a meetup.com group here to round up some English speakers, but can't seem to figure out how to get to any of the meetings.
