Under the Riviera sun

Just as that woman, Frances, found herself while renovating an old villa in Tuscany in the book Under the Tuscan Sun, I, too will find myself with a little crafty manual labour. Today, I will search my soul while renovating on the Riviera!

OK, so all I mean by renovating is painting... and I'm not so much probing the depths of my psyche as I am watching re-runs of American TV shows on my laptop, but look at me! I have to use sand paper and a mask!

I'm sure I mentioned this desire to paint the washroom some time ago, but I did a crap job in the beginning (notice paint on wallpaper that's now being torn off) and have decided to now take this project more seriously. And, truth be told, there will be a bit of thinking going on -- this renovation is not just happening because the bathroom is covered in little sailboats and fish. The Professor and I have been making this apartment our shared home. And changing the space a little has been part of that process.

As well, I've decided that up until I turn 34 (which is soon... oh, soon!), everything in my life could use a little overhaul. I've turned almost everything in my life upside down this year, which means there's no better time to think about what I really want out of life.

Next task... finding a gym in France that isn't too scary for me to join.

  1. Do French people really go to the gym?
