I've been going through our pictures from the French wedding, but also from some of the hikes and tours we went on while we were near the Loire Valley with my parents. Here are a few photos from Chenonceau, a castle built on the Cher River in the 16th Century. It's known as le Chateau des Dames because it was built by a woman and then owned by different women over the years.

Hey Kerry: Fabulous pictures! Still can't imagine how people can live in a castle!!!! So surreal...

Seriously! I'd much rather live in the little house that I imagined might have been the workers' quarters. The castles are just too much!
ReplyDeleteThat's true too. I think a little cottage by the lake would be perfect - if you know what I mean!!! Can't wait!

Great set! It looks familiar yet strangely exotic to me. Do you know what I mean? Feels like that sometimes when you left home a long time ago!
ReplyDeleteZhu: Yes! It's funny how when you live in between two places (or have moved from one to another), both places end up being a little familiar and a little foreign to you all the time. I haven't been back to Ottawa now in a year. I'm scared by how exotic I might find it this summer!
