Exercise and beer (not the secret of the French)

The exercise in France vs. exercise in Canada research will have to wait a few days. The sun came out today, so rather than researching exercise, I actually did some of it. I wandered around the neighbourhood and took pictures of some of the flowers around the villas while the Prof was at work. Quickly. While speed walking. And the sun was hot.

And then when I came home, I realized that I still had some pictures I hadn't posted from the Carnaval de Nice -- pictures of beer.

After the Carnaval, the Prof. and I wandered into Le Big Ben Pub, a little British bar near the port and ordered some beer cocktails. I'd never heard of them before, but something like it is apparently even available in Canada: here. (Muskoka Cottage Brewery has Double Chocolate Cranberry and apparently a new orange juice beer the way -- it's at least an interesting experiment. Thanks for the heads-up, Carmen!)

  1. So Kerry, did you like your beer cocktail? Here in BC there is this brewery:

And I just bought a case of the mandarin orange amber ale - but will try it this weekend! It doesn't look as orange as the Muskoka one!

  2. I think the straw was the problem... goes straight to your head! Mine was good, but the banana whiskey one (or whatever the Prof had) was a little ... dense? Not quite my thing.

Thanks for the link! Now I'll have something to try if I ever make it out to BC!

  3. Yes, the look of the banana whiskey one looks a bit weird to me! But they have the fruit beer on the menu!
