Speaking English to English speakers was somewhat of a freaky experience since I'd become used to speaking either in French or speaking very slowly in English. I'd forgotten how to swear (which is maybe a good thing) and my English voice had actually become a little unfamiliar to me. My accent had even changed, probably because I'd been using different parts of my mouth to speak. I was surprised that I could lose that familiarity so easily after so many years in broadcast journalism -- but I did.
And then, with a little socialization, I became a regular-speaking anglophone again.
Here's a TV report I did for Rivieralife.tv on Art Monaco, an art exhibition that will be held for a second year at the end of March.
