A new year in Nice ... and a secret revealed

We're back in Nice now that the holidays are over.

And, I guess, we're ready to talk.

For 2011, the Professor and I have decided that we're ready for resolutions, renewal, and to have a few small secrets revealed....

The first hint is hidden in my Christmas Eve interview with Stu Mills on CBC Radio's All In a Day.

It's here, under Dec. 24. In a funny coincidence, my dad was interviewed on the show just a few days before, talking about his new book Northern Light: The Enduring Mystery of Tom Thomson and the Woman Who Loved Him, published by Random House.

Here's the slide show of the dinner I'm talking about in the interview:

  2. LOL!!! Nice interview; thanks for sharing!

Mmm, oysters: I love them. Yes, there is a lot of snow in Toronto (and more in Ottawa I assume). I miss Nice though and can't wait to get back.

Hey, do you have plans to attend the carnival in Feb?

  3. Is the secret that you're married?
(And I laughed when the interviewer said your English wasn't coming to you very easily, mine doesn't anymore either!)

  4. Well! I've just listened to your Christmas Eve interview...I guess the story I started following in The Star some time ago is continuing to evolve in a happy way. Looks like your leap was worth it! Congrats!!

  5. Sara Louise: Yep! I just couldn't call him my boyfriend anymore if it wasn't true. So... I'm staying here!

Losing English is weird, isn't it? Now I can't speak any language properly!

  7. Starzz: Oui! Oui! I'm still a little shocked that this trip worked out so well in the end. So glad I took the risk!

  8. Tanya: You're already a much better French woman than I am! I'm working on the oysters, though... I swear.

I didn't go to the carnival last year, but I'd love to see it this year! Maybe I'll see you there?

  9. LOL! I loved oysters before moving to France so it's only a bonus that it's a big thing for Christmas.
    And here's a virtual congrats too. ;-)

Yeah, we'll be at the carnival this year; I can't wait!
