The opera!

We went to the opera in Nice on Saturday to see Beethoven's Fidelio.

This was my first real opera and I was really excited to finally see one live and indoors (I'd only seen Ottawa's Opera Under the Stars before). So, we bought some cheap, 10 euro tickets and walked all the way up to the top of the opera house to take our seats. Then, we realized that the cheap seats in Nice really only give you a good view of the ceiling -- which, I'll admit is painted and kind of nice to look at.

Check out the view!

(Maybe ignore my black hair, though. I was being a serious opera woman -- and well, that's just how it turned out. More changes, I'm sure, are on the horizon soon...)

  1. Lovely as a brunette! And we have to check out the opera. Thanks for the tip.

  2. Yes, check it out... but go more than half an hour early if you want the best pick of the cheap seats. Or, I think anything over 10 euros, might hugely improve the view!

  4. It was good! But it was being translated into French, which I then had to read and figure out in English. The word "pain" (and people giving each other "pain") can be very confusing when you have too many languages swimming around in your head!
