While looking up some info about Canadians in France and doing some boring paperwork today, I came across this slightly hilarious page made by the Canadian government. I guess I should have read before boarding the plane to France the first time, but I didn't find it until now. The site gives an overview of France from both local and Canadian perspectives -- two perspectives I've had to learn about on my own since moving here. I'm not sure what I would have thought I was leaping into if I'd done proper research beforehand...
(Note: Insider and Canadian views provided for other countries, too.)
(ps. This little cultural translator would have been a big help explaining some of the early misunderstandings between me and M. Prof!)
