Longing for the familiar

Decided: I need a break from learning.

I'm happy I've got the scooter and I'm writing well today and the rain has stopped... but I wouldn't mind a day or two where I just get to run errands and get take out like the old days. It's amazing how many areas of your life require a little instruction when you're living in a new country.

And, let me tell you, my brain is full.

I'm going to have a No Learning Friday this week. I will do NOTHING new. I will only do things I'm good at, familiar with, and have some knowledge of. Until Friday, however, I'm going to allow myself to do a ton of new things (opening a bank account, skiing in the Alps, scootering by myself around town) so this plan for a psychological break had better work. I need at least one day where I can feel safe and smart.

Speaking of safe and smart, I'll post a photo of the new scooter in a few hours after I've taken it out.
