What to buy for the first Christmas together

I've got a very interesting few weeks coming up. My family is having Christmas today because I'll be spending the actual Christmas with the Frenchman's family. This will be the first time I meet them. I've searched around and found them some interesting little Canadian odds and ends, but I can't seem to find anything for HIM.

I want to give him an adventure, but I can't seem to come up with a single idea. (My parents came up with one, but they're going to use it.) So, what do I do? What says great affection, adventure, promise, commitment (at least for the next few months) and fun?

Walked around Costco with the family today looking for an adventure. Found nothing but food samples and other people my age wandering around looking for their parents (since none of us seem to buy our own cards, we can never leave with out them).

Thinking of looking online, but where?
